EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) is a synthetic rubber membrane installed as a single piece on most domestic flat roofs. On a typical extension, dormer or garage in Leeds, EPDM is fitted with no seams at all — eliminating the most common point of failure on traditional felt roofs. We use Firestone RubberCover and ClassicBond systems, both with 20- to 50-year manufacturer warranties.
GRP (glass-reinforced polyester) is a liquid-applied fibreglass system that cures into a single seamless surface across the entire roof. It's ideal for balconies, walk-on roofs, dormers and any flat roof where appearance matters. We install with full BS 6229 compliance — proper falls, edge trims, and a high-build topcoat for UV protection.

Not every tired flat roof needs replacing. Localised felt repairs — a split seam, a blister, flashing that's parted from the wall — can buy a sound roof several more years, and we'll tell you honestly which side of the line yours falls. The same goes for rubber roofing: EPDM is repairable with proper bonded patches when it's been punctured, and unlike felt it doesn't degrade around the repair. If water is already coming through, treat it as urgent — flat roof leaks spread along the deck and show up indoors a long way from the actual hole.
