Local, trusted, family-run roofing specialists based right here in Kirkstall (LS5). We've been roofing across Kirkstall, Burley, Hawksworth Road and the surrounding streets for over 30 years. Free quotes, free drone surveys, fully insured, 10-year written workmanship guarantee — and a reputation built one neighbour at a time.
We're not a national chain pretending to be local. We're not based in Manchester or Sheffield with a Leeds phone number redirected to a call centre. Kirkstall Roofing started here, in Kirkstall, in the early 1990s. We've been on the same streets ever since. If you live in LS5 you've probably driven past three or four of our jobs without knowing it.
Being a Kirkstall-based roofer matters more than people realise. We know how the wind funnels off the Aire Valley and tears at the gable-end of certain streets. We know which roads have stone-built Yorkshire cottages still wearing their original gritstone slate, and which were built post-war with concrete tiles that are now reaching the end of their lifespan. We know which letting agents to ring, which insurers to deal with, and which streets are in the Kirkstall Valley conservation area where like-for-like replacement matters.
We offer every type of roofing service across Kirkstall:
Slipped tiles, leaks, flashing repairs and storm damage — our most common Kirkstall job.
Learn More →Complete re-roofs in Welsh slate, Yorkshire stone, concrete and clay tile.

Learn More →Kirkstall (LS5) is one of the most varied housing areas in Leeds. The roofing requirements change street by street:
Around Kirkstall Abbey, Bridge Road, and the older parts of Hawksworth Road, you'll find stone-built cottages with original Yorkshire gritstone slate roofs. These need heritage-correct repair using reclaimed slate where possible. We're experienced working with Leeds City Council on conservation-area requirements for these properties.
The streets running off Kirkstall Road and Burley Road have rows of late-Victorian and Edwardian terraces — typically two-storey, party-wall chimneys, Welsh slate originals (many since replaced with concrete tile). Common issues: shared chimney stack repointing, valley repairs between properties, lead flashing failures.
The post-war development around Vesper Road, Vesper Lane, Beecroft Estate and Hawksworth sit largely under concrete or clay tile. Many of these roofs are now 60–80 years old and approaching the end of their lifespan — full re-roofs are increasingly common.
The newer developments along Kirkstall Road, Vesper Gate and the riverside conversions use modern concrete tile or fibre cement slate. These typically need first-major-service attention around the 25-year mark.
Our most active Kirkstall streets include: Kirkstall Lane, Kirkstall Hill, Kirkstall Road, Bridge Road, Hawksworth Road, Vesper Road, Vesper Lane, Vesper Way, Vesper Gate, Beecroft Estate, Argie Avenue, Argie Road, Cardigan Road, Burley Park, Wellclose Terrace, Stocks Hill, Kirkstall Mount, Morris Mount, Morris Lane, Headingley Lane (LS5 end), and all surrounding side streets.
